Clio Bildman is a black-and-white film photographer focused on creating introspective portraiture that deconstructs persona to reveal the intimate, often unseen aspects of our humanity.
Originally from Cambridge, Massachusetts, Clio is currently based in Brooklyn, New York, where she studies Photography and Videography at the School of Visual Arts. Her creative practice spans both photography and performance art, which she explores as complementary forms of expression.
Clio explores vulnerability, solitude, and connection, and seeks to create a space where viewers can recognize something of themselves in others. By revealing the shared experiences beneath our individual identities, hopefully the work suggest that loneliness is not an isolated experience, but something that can connect us all.
In her performance work, Clio collaborates with musicians as a go-go dancer to create immersive, expansive experiences that invite audiences to move and dance alongside the music. She has performed in New York and Paris at venues including Le Bain, Serpent à Plume, Bowery Electric, and Main Drag, alongside artists such as Liz Lamere and Sphaèros.
